PROLEARN I

PROLEARN I - prototypic learning modules for learning analystics

Funding: Bund-/Länderprogramm zur Hochschulfinanzierung, Hochschulpakt III  2016-2020

Duration: 01.01.2017 – 31.12.2019

project overview

The aim of the project is to create a more individualized learning situation by integrating state of the art technology and methods into teaching, as well as through the development of well attuned e-learning modules, to promote independent learning in combination with face-to-face events. Thus, a more individualized support of students through the approach of blended learning in reduced group sizes, including independent learning will be promoted.

The rapid development of sensor development has led to new opportunities in the field of sensor-based systems. As part of the project, in addition to the procurement of modern and up-to-date optical satellite image data and digital elevation models, the technical equipment, i.e. for spectral reflectance measurements in the laboratory and field will be adapted to the current state of the art. These improvements modernize and expand the environment for existing courses. The improved staffing, in turn, improves the quality of the learning situation and allows group sizes to be reduced.

In close cooperation and coordination with the project PROLEARN II, the content of e-learning modules are based on a general study-independent geographical understanding of space, as required and applied in science and practice. In detail, general basics in the field of remote sensing and cartography are presented, which are thematically focused on the types of landscapes and regions of the earth and geodata relevant for the analysis and thereby include modeling in different data and scales (eg: data acquisition, recording and evaluation).
